Blindventurers League

Platforms: Google Play Store
Project Duration: 6 months
Tools Used: Unity3D 5.5, Unity Analytics, Unity Ads, Visual Studio, SourceTree/BitBucket
Languages Used: C#

Blindventurers League is a 2D puzzle game for Android developed using Unity3D and C# by me and five others. I was the one who came up with the original idea for the game and made the first few prototypes. This project lasted about 6 months.

My personal goals for the project

  • Learn about optimizing for mobile.
  • Learn about design and controls for mobile.
  • Learn about creating tools for other developers to use.
  • Publish a game on Google Play Store and IOS.

Below is a brief gameplay video

While creating the game we decided to make a level creator using the powerful Unity3D editor code. We chose to do this because making good levels for the game proved difficult and very time consuming.
The tool was made by me and partially the other programmer on our team.
It draws floor tiles and creates appropriate walls around the floor tiles according to the floor tiles adjacent. The tool also enables the designers to put in other objects relevant to the levels such as traps or buttons.

Below is a video showcasing the floor creation and the tool menu.
The tool menu is is large part directly below the camera view in the video.

This level includes pits which are connected to the buttons by color. When a colored button is engaged, the corresponding colored pit will be deactivated and safe to move across.
